The Dining Pavilion on the Wormsley Estate, designed by Robin Snell and Partners, is an entertainment space and houses Jeff Koons’ Sculpture "Cracked Egg." The pavilion is accessed by a footbridge to the central island. This companion piece to the architect's earlier Garsington Opera, reinterprets the 18th century tradition of pavilions in the landscape. George Sexton Associates lighting design accommodates dining, gallery and musical performances. The dimmable luminous ceiling, combined with a flexible halogen slot lighting system, creates lighting scenes for the different functions. The luminous ceiling extends to the veranda to give the impression in the evening that the ceiling is floating. The bridge is indirectly illuminated by linear LED lighting which reflects off the water providing added sparkle.
